Cue Starburst

May 25 - I recently came across the original script to the recent commercial for Verizion's Fios service.

EXT. A SUBURBAN STREET - DAY.

A BOY, about nine, stands in front of his house as a VERIZON TRUCK pulls up on the curb. A VERIZON TECHNICIAN gets out and walks around to the back of the truck.

BOY
Are you the cable guy?

TECHNICIAN
I'm a Verizon Fios licensed technician.

BOY
What?

TECHICIAN
(Beaming. He loves his work.)
We provide POTS over FIOS phone service
and pure FTTH-certified fiber optic service
with 30mps downloads and 5mps uploads utilizing
Actiontec MI424-WR Coax-enabled broadband home
wireless-G router at speeds of 622 Mbits downstream
at 1490 nanometers on the ITU-T G.983 standard.

The technician opens the back doors of the truck. A brilliant burst of multi-colored light explodes out of the back.

BOY
You're three hours late.

NARRATOR (V.O.)
See what all the fuss is about. Call Verizon today.

I think they tweaked it a little bit between the original draft and the production script.
